Privacy Policy for Sunlift
Last updated: September 26, 2026 (analytics and Apple Watch added)
Sunlift (“the app”) is an iOS alarm made by Lee Pokai. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: Sunlift does not sell your data or track you across apps. It collects anonymous usage data to improve the app, and a subscription service handles purchases.
Camera
Wake-up challenges use your camera to count squats, push-ups and other moves, and to recognise objects such as a toothbrush. Frames are analysed on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework. They are never recorded, saved, uploaded or shared.
Data stored on your device
Your alarm settings, morning sets and workout history are stored only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them. A few onboarding answers (such as how you found Sunlift and your usual wake-up time) are also sent with the anonymous analytics described below.
Apple Health
If you turn on "Save workouts to Apple Health", Sunlift writes each finished morning set to Apple Health as a workout with estimated active energy. Sunlift does not read any Health data. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
Apple Watch
If you use the Apple Watch app, your watch counts steps, arm movements and heart rate during a wake-up move with Apple's motion and HealthKit frameworks. Only the running count is sent to your iPhone to turn off the alarm. The short workout session is discarded and not saved to Apple Health.
Notifications and alarms
Alarms and reminders (for example the reminder before your free trial ends) are scheduled locally on your device with Apple's AlarmKit and notification frameworks.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Sunlift uses RevenueCat to check your subscription status and to manage trials and renewals. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an anonymous app user ID, not your name or email.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
Sunlift uses PostHog to understand how the app is used, for example which onboarding screens people finish, how often the paywall is shown and whether morning sets are completed. Events are tied to the same anonymous app user ID, not to your name, email or device advertising identifier, and are not used for advertising.
To measure Apple Search Ads campaigns, Sunlift passes Apple's privacy-preserving attribution token (AdServices) to RevenueCat. Sunlift does not ask for tracking permission, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children
Sunlift is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
